I spent the weekend in Pahrump, a small Nevada town with a lot to offer snowbirds, a lot cheaper than Vegas and modest. I watched Superbowl XL in a local bar and let my hip back re-cooperate after my fall in Death Valley. Early Monday morning found me at a local repair shop and the sway bracket support repaired.
It is a short run to Las Vegas from Pahrump and I found that the improvement in the handling of the rig an immense improvement, a lot less swaying and much easier to keep a straight line. Obviously the nut had come of some considerable time ago before movement fatigue caused the bracket to fail. Difficult to analyse but I will keep an eye on the bracket.
My memory of this journey was the sheer number of small cactus that covered the plain areas like a forest. There was a slight rise through a canyon before dropping down into Las Vegas, once ensconced into 'the best RV Park in Vegas', or so I was told I took a run up and down the 'strip'. (See Photographs) Las Vegas is not my sort of town but it certainly attracts a vast number of people.
