Arches National Park

Power of the elements

If red is your colour, then the Arches NP is for you. The elements have shaped this area into unbelievable valleys, forms, columns and arches of dynamic proportion. The trails are extensive and well worth a trial walk starting with an easier one first. Yes that is me standing on the arch, just a little scared.

Moab

The town of Moab is some 10 miles south of Canyonlands and Arches NP and is a great centre for exploring this area. (See Map, PDF)

Arches

The topography of this National Park stretches the imagination and is small enough to appreciate in a full day. The array of pink sandstone becomes a vivid red at sunset and sunrise affording spectacular photography. (See Photos)

South to Mesa Verde

After spending 4 days exploring the area we continued south on Route 191 which continues to provide spectacular topography.
